Yesterday I did the initial set up and connected a Synology DS414 NAS to my network. I used mconnect and mcontrol for some time, but got really frustrated with them because they a) sometimes had trouble finding the Bridge and b) lost the contents of the playlist if you went away from the app for any length of time. Ive used MinimServer 0.8 from the beginning for my D1 on a Synology DS 710+. I’ve tried about every control point for iOS and ended up preferring Kazoo (which requires also running BubbleUPnP server, but you seem to have gotten that figured out already). 1) Login to the NAS as root using SSH 2) Enter this command: /usr/syno/bin/servicetool -remove-configure-file -package MinimServer.sc 3) Reboot the NAS 4) Install the latest 0.8.1b version of MinimServer I don't know how to log in to the root. The DS plays native DSD files only via its i2s inputs the Bridge requires the use of DoP. Synology Archive Download Site - Index of /download/Package/MinimServer/0.8.5.3. Minimserver is free (or by voluntary donation) and Asset has a free trial, so you could try them both and see which you prefer. However, now that Asset is available for Synology, I would probably go for that based on its reputation for being easier to set up. Some people (including me) find improved SQ by having MinimServer transcode PCM files from whatever format they are stored in (FLAC, for instance) to WAV rather than having the Bridge do this.
